Admissions

Primay Education Brochure available in school.

Admission Number - The admission number is the number of children which a school is required to admit in each year group.  All Schools must offer places up to the admission number and once that is reached, any further admissions would normally be by appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel.  the admission number for Abbey Junior School is 90.

The Government has introduced new legislation on admission to primary schools, which has resulted in Darlington Authority operating co-ordinated admissions arragements for all schools within the Authority.

Most children attend the nearest appropriate school from their home address. However, some parents/carers may wish their children to attend a different school.  The authority will comply with parental requests where a place is abailalbe in the requested school.
